Miko Ginting is a law and policy consultant with a unique and holistic perspective on Indonesia’s legal and judicial system. Through years of analysing the judicial system, training and teaching on various legal topics, advising international development organisations as well as serving as a spokesperson in a high-level state commission, he has developed a clear sense of what it takes to strengthen the legal performance of an individual, institution, or company. He is also convinced of the need for better strategic communication on legal cases and matters.
Miko’s professional network goes beyond the traditional legal community – extending to media, academia, government, legislature, legal reform organisations, and development agencies. This allows him to access information from different sides of an issue that might influence factors considered in a policy or case and help define the most effective strategic approach for any given situation. He has received several acknowledgements for his expertise, such as being invited as a resource person for numerous seminars (national and international), workshops, and live discussions on TV and radio. In 2019, he was also invited by the Presidential Office to be an expert in the preparation of the President’s Legal Reform Program.
Miko graduated from the Faculty of Law, Padjadjaran University. He later pursued further studies and earned a Master of Arts from the International Institute for the Sociology of Law in Oñati, Basque Country, Spain. He is a licensed advocate registered with the Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI) and is authorised to represent clients before courts throughout Indonesia. He is also licensed as a Certified Customs Advisor (CCA) and a Certified Tax Legal Consultant (CTLC), enabling him to represent clients in tax disputes as well as customs and excise matters before the Tax Court.
In addition, he is actively involved in various social and community initiatives. He has served as a Member of the Board of Supervisors of the Humanis Foundation since January 2025. He has been the Executive Chair of the Yayasan Pengembangan Budaya Karo Simalem (Karo Foundation) since 2024. He has also served as Chair of the Board of Supervisors of the Cipta Garis Temurun Foundation since 2025.
